Salary
The Fire Officer engaged on contract basis will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only), subject to applicability of the DoPT Office Memorandum on fixation of pay in respect of retired government employees. No other benefits are payable apart from this consolidated remuneration. Key terms and conditions of the contract include: • Contract Duration: Initially one year from the date of joining/reporting, extendable at the discretion of the Port Authority based on satisfactory performance. The engagement does not confer any right to continuous employment or any regular appointment in VPA. • Reporting and Duty: The candidate must report to duty immediately on issue of the appointment order and work under the control of the Dy. Conservator (HoD), VPA, at the Fire Service Section, with a minimum duty of 8 hours per day (general/shifts). • Leave: Eligible for 12 days of leave in a calendar year on a pro-rata basis, subject to prior permission from the competent authority. • Periodical Fitness: Required to undergo medical tests as prescribed in VPA Regulations and report to duty only after medical fitness is certified by the CMO/VPA. • Training: On-the-job training to operate the Fire Fighting System at VPA is mandatory. • Accommodation: A suitable Type IV quarter may be provided on request at standard/market rent, subject to availability (bachelor accommodation is not provided), with water, electricity, and conservancy charges payable…
