Selection Process

Selection is based on a merit list prepared from educational qualification marks, combined with a fixed order of social priority for candidates residing in the same Gram Sabha/Ward. The priority order, exactly as listed in the notification, is: • Widow / legally divorced / abandoned (deserted) woman belonging to a family living below the poverty line (BPL) in the same Gram Sabha/Ward gets the first priority. • If no such BPL widow/divorced/abandoned woman candidate is found, women belonging to BPL families in the same Gram Sabha/Ward are given priority. • If no BPL candidate (widow/divorced/abandoned or general) is found, widow/divorced/abandoned women living above the poverty line in the same Gram Sabha/Ward are selected. • If none of the above are found, women living above the poverty line in the same Gram Sabha/Ward are selected. • If still no candidate is found as per the above, women from families living above the poverty line in the same Gram Sabha/Ward are selected from the remaining eligible applicants. For widow candidates, the death certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Adhikari/concerned Nagar Nikay along with the family register copy will be considered valid proof. For divorced/abandoned (deserted) women, a legal order issued by a competent court will be considered valid proof.
