Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 42 years of age as on 1 July 2026 - i.e., born not later than 1 July 2005 and not earlier than 2 July 1984. Category: Age Relaxation Uttarakhand SC / ST / OBC: 5 years Uttarakhand PwD candidates (Group-A & B posts): 5 years Dependents of Uttarakhand freedom fighters: 5 years Ex-servicemen: Up to 5 years, based on length of military service, subject to conditions Reservation and age relaxation benefits are available only to candidates who are domicile of Uttarakhand. Salary
Salary varies by post, as shown in the Vacancy table above - most posts carry a pay scale of ₹56,100–1,77,500 (Level-10); State Tax Officer carries ₹44,900–1,42,400 (Level-07); and Case Worker carries ₹35,400–1,12,400 (Level-06).
Selection Process
Selection follows a three-stage process: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview. • Preliminary Examination (Objective type): A screening exam only - its marks are not added to the Main Examination or Interview marks. It has two objective-type papers. Paper-2 (General Mental Ability Test) is qualifying only, requiring a minimum of 33% marks for all categories. Ranking for qualifying to the Main Examination is based solely on Paper-1 (General Studies) marks. Calculators are not allowed. Negative marking applies: 1/4 of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer; multiple answers to one question are treated as wrong; unattempted questions attract no penalty. • Main Examination (Written/Descriptive type): Held at examination centres in Haldwani and Haridwar, using a Question-Answer Booklet (QAB) format. Answers must be given entirely in English or entirely in Hindi (Devanagari script) for a given paper - mixing languages within one paper is not allowed, except for technical terms. • Interview: Candidates declared successful in the Main Examination must submit an online post-wise preference (Online Preference Sheet) before the Interview stage. How to Apply
• Visit the official website psc.uk.gov.in or pscuk.net.in • Go to the "How to Apply" link in the menu bar, review the Advertisement Details, Important Dates, and Instructions for filling up the online application form • Click "Apply Now" and complete the Registration form with accurate details; create a password and submit • Verify the Basic Information displayed; tick the verification declaration and submit, or edit if any correction is needed • After successful Primary Registration, a message will be sent to your registered mobile number and email - click "Click here to login" • Fill in Educational Details (High School, Intermediate, Graduate, and other qualifications) and select the post(s) you are eligible for • Upload your photo and signature as per the specified format, and tick the declaration • Review all filled details carefully, then click the Final Submit button to complete the application • Pay the application fee online via Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI • Take a printout of the completed online application form for future reference If an error is found before Final Submission, applicants can go back and edit the form. After Final Submission, no changes are possible except during the separate Edit/Correction window (07–16 October 2026); the mobile number cannot be edited even during this window.
Important Instructions
• Reservation and age relaxation benefits apply only to candidates who are domicile of Uttarakhand; non-domicile candidates in reserved categories can only apply under the Unreserved (General) category • Category/sub-category, once claimed in the online application, cannot be changed after final submission under any circumstances • Candidates submitting fake certificates (educational qualification/age/reservation) will be debarred from all future Commission examinations for up to 5 years, along with possible legal action • No 25% additional waiting list will be prepared for these posts, as this is a joint/combined examination per the applicable Government Order • Admit cards will not be sent by post - candidates must download them from the Commission's website using their registration number and date of birth • Selection at every stage is provisional; if a candidate is found not to meet the prescribed eligibility at any stage - even after final selection - their candidature will be cancelled • Candidates must mark their thumb impression (left thumb for male candidates, right thumb for female candidates) on the answer sheet at the designated place, or the answer sheet will not be evaluated • Complaints regarding the conduct of the examination must be submitted through the prescribed process within the stipulated time • Important information will be sent to candidates via email or SMS, so candidates must enter their own correct mobile number and email ID in the application
