Salary
Officers commissioned in the Territorial Army will receive pay and allowances at par with Regular Army Officers when embodied for training and military service as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. Commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant with a pay level of 10 in the pay matrix. In addition to basic pay, officers receive Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500/- per month. However, since Territorial Army is a part-time commitment with mandatory two months of training per year, pay and allowances are applicable only during the period of embodiment for training or military service. Serving in the Territorial Army does not guarantee pension, which is subject to embodied service as per organisational requirement. Promotions up to Lt Colonel are by time scale subject to fulfilling laid-down criteria, while promotion to Colonel and Brigadier is by selection. Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of ₹500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for Territorial Army Commission 2026. Payment of examination fee can be made only through the modes prescribed on the official website. Payment of fee through any other mode is neither valid nor acceptable. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee or through an incorrect payment mode shall be summarily rejected. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances, nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Stage: Details Stage 1 - Computer Based Test (CBT): Online objective-type examination of 100 marks in 02 hours (Reasoning: 40 marks, General Knowledge: 30 marks, English: 30 marks). Penalty of 1/3rd mark for wrong answers. Stage 2 - SSB Interview (Stage 1): Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test on the first day of reporting. How to Apply
Candidates are required to apply online only by using the official website www.indianarmy.nic.in. No other mode is allowed for submission of application. Online Registration and Applications can be filed from 20 April 2026 (1000 Hours) to 19 May 2026 (2355 Hours), after which the link will be disabled. Candidates must ensure they provide their valid and active email IDs and mobile numbers in the application form, as the concerned authorities will use electronic mode of communication at different stages of the examination process. Candidates must carefully decide their choice of examination centre while filling in the application form, as no request for change of centre will be granted after submission.
