Eligibility
• Eligible Candidates: Only Ex-Service Commissioned Officers can apply. • Nationality: Only citizens of India (male and female). • Employment Status: Applicant must be gainfully employed. • Not Eligible: Serving members of the Regular Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, GREF, Para Military and similar forces cannot apply.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 42 years of age as on the date of application.

Pay and allowances are the same as Regular Army officers when embodied for training and military service. Promotions up to Lt Colonel are by time scale (subject to fulfilling laid-down criteria), while promotion to Colonel and Brigadier is by selection.
Selection Process
• Ex-Service Officers will be screened by the Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) held at Directorate General Territorial Army (TA-4), Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, 4th Floor, 'A' Block, Ministry of Defence Office Complex, KG Marg, New Delhi - 110001. • Based on the total number of applications received, Army HQ reserves the right to call up a limited number of applicants for interview. • Candidates who do not receive a call-up letter will have their candidature deemed cancelled. • Type of exam: Only an interview is conducted (no written exam). • Eligible candidates will be issued a call-up letter and sent notification by e-mail through the Territorial Army Directorate.

• Download the Application Form IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) Part-1 from the official website www.indianarmy.nic.in (free of cost). • Fill up the application form in your own handwriting. • Attach the Release Order and Photocopy of the Release Medical Board Proceedings along with the application. • Send the completed application to: Directorate General Territorial Army, Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, 4th Floor, 'A' Block, Ministry of Defence Office Complex, KG Marg, New Delhi - 110001. • Applications must be sent by India Post only. • Ensure the application reaches the office on or before 25 August 2026.
