Candidates in all categories, for both posts, must not be less than 18 years and not more than 35 years of age as on 18/09/2026. For Ex-servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by the number of years equal to their defence service plus 3 years. The application fee for both posts is payable online and is non-refundable, with online transaction charges levied extra. Category: Driver Fee | Frash Fee General and SC/ST/BC of areas/States other than Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh: ₹1000/- | ₹700/- SC/ST/BC of Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh: ₹800/- | ₹600/- Ex-servicemen: ₹800/- | ₹600/- For the Frash post only, there is no application fee for candidates who are dependents of Ex-servicemen disabled or deceased during active operation, provided they upload the requisite proof at the time of application and produce the original at testimonials checking. For both posts, reservation and fee relaxation for SC/ST/BC candidates apply only to those holding a valid certificate and domiciled/permanent resident of Punjab, Haryana, or U.T. Chandigarh; candidates from other states are considered under the General Category. Ex-servicemen fee relaxation applies only to the ex-servicemen themselves, not their dependents.
Selection Process
Selection to the post of Driver is made on the basis of performance in a Practical Test-cum-Interview. The High Court may apply any suitable shortlisting criteria for provisionally allowing candidates to appear, informed via a public notice at the appropriate time. Selection does not confer any right to claim appointment; candidates proposed for appointment first undergo a trial period, with confirmed appointment only after its successful completion.
