- Candidates must meet either of the following three qualification routes: • MBBS (recognized by MCI) with MD in PSM/Community Medicine, MD (CHA), or MD (Tropical Medicine), or DNB in Social and Preventive Medicine/Community Medicine. • MBBS (recognized by MCI) with an EIS (Epidemic Intelligence Service) Training Course Certificate. • BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BPT/B.Sc. in Life Sciences (Nursing, Biology, Microbiology, Developmental Biology and Physiology) with an MPH (Epidemiology) or DPH (Epidemiology); OR a Master in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) plus two years of Public Health experience; OR a PhD in Clinical Sciences, Medical Science, Preventive Medicine, Human Physiology, Pathophysiology or Epidemiology. Experience required: At least 10 years of field experience, after obtaining the essential qualification, in implementing public health programmes or interventions with a focus on communicable diseases. The candidate must have passed a 100-mark Marathi language paper in SSC and HSC, and must have working command over the Marathi language.

Based on the terms and conditions, the process works as follows: • Applications submitted with self-attested documents are scrutinized by the Health Department. • Eligible and ineligible candidates are notified from time to time on the PMC website (https://www.pmc.gov.in). • A merit list is prepared according to the number of applications received, and selection is made on the basis of qualification and experience; preference is given to candidates with more experience and higher educational qualification, though the final decision rests with the administration. • The decision of the selection committee is final, and the final merit list remains valid for 1 year. • Selected candidates are required to execute an agreement on a Rs. 500 bond paper.
