Age Limit
Candidates must be minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years as on 01-01-2025. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SEBC, SC, ST, and all Women candidates, and by 10 years for PwD candidates. PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST category are entitled to a cumulative relaxation of 10 years over and above the normal relaxation for their category. Candidates falling under more than one category shall be eligible for only one benefit of age relaxation, whichever is most beneficial. Syllabus
The Preliminary Examination is based on a general indicative syllabus (Annexure-C). The Main Written Examination Technical Paper syllabus for Food Safety Officer is given in Annexure-D (Section II) of the official notification. All papers are MCQ-based, bilingual (Odia and English), except Paper I of the Main Exam (language). The exam medium option once given in the online application cannot be changed. The selection process for OSSC Food Safety Officer Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 (three) successive stages – Stage I: Preliminary Examination (150 marks, CBT/OMR, 150 minutes), Stage II: Main Written Examination (200 marks, CBT/OMR, Technical Paper) + Computer Skill Test (qualifying, 50% marks required), and Stage III: Certificate Verification.
