Selection Process
Selection will be based on GATE 2026 score and Personal Interview. No separate written examination is conducted by OPTCL. Final appointment is subject to medical fitness and verification of antecedents. Stage 1 – GATE 2026 Score-Based Shortlisting Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for Personal Interview based on their GATE 2026 normalized marks (out of 100) in the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper. Only GATE 2026 score is valid; scores from prior years will not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates can download their interview call letter through the candidate login on the OPTCL website. Stage 2 – Personal Interview and Document Verification Shortlisted candidates will be required to get documents verified through the Digi Locker application as per the procedure intimated in the interview call letter. Important Instructions
• Selected candidates will be required to execute a service bond of Rs. 3,00,000/- (applicable for all categories) to successfully complete the training period and thereafter serve OPTCL for at least three years. The bond amount is payable if the candidate resigns or leaves service during the stipulated bond period for any reason whatsoever. • During the 1-year training period, a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month will be paid. On successful completion, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical) in Pay Matrix Level EE-2 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) with CTC of approximately Rs. 15 Lakhs per annum. • If performance during training is found unsatisfactory, the training period will be extended for a further six months.
