Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Qualification requirements, assessed as per the notification dated 20.08.2026: Requirement: Details Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognised University Professional Experience: At least 2 (two) years of experience as a practising Advocate, supported by a certificate from the concerned District & Sessions Judge in the prescribed format at Annexure-B Bar Enrolment: Certificate of Enrolment under Bar Council of India / State Bar Council Language Requirement: Must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and must have passed either the Middle School standard language test in Odia conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or Matriculation (Class-X) with Odia as a subject Nationality: Must be a citizen of India
Age Limit
The OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Age Limit is calculated as on 1st January 2026: • Minimum age: 21 years • Maximum age: 42 years • Candidates must be born not earlier than 2nd January 1984 and not later than 1st January 2005 • Age relaxation of 5 years for SEBC, SC, ST, Women and Ex-Servicemen candidates • Age relaxation of 10 years for Persons with Disabilities whose permanent disability is 40% or more • Cumulative age relaxation of 15 years for Persons with Disabilities belonging to SEBC/SC/ST categories • A candidate covered under more than one relaxation category is eligible for only one benefit - whichever is most beneficial • Date of birth entered in the High School Certificate (or equivalent) issued by the concerned Board/Council will only be accepted Candidates are advised to check whether they satisfy the prescribed age limit before applying. Salary
Selected candidates for the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor post will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 44,900/- in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017, along with usual Dearness Allowance and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. The notification states that all persons appointed under the Government of Odisha on or after 1st January 2005 are covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme under the Odisha Civil Services (Pension) Amendment Rules, 2005, and are not eligible for pension under the earlier Odisha Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1992. As per the Odisha Payment of Recruitment Examination Fees and Refund Rules, 2025, the OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Application Fee structure is as follows: Category: Fee SC / ST / PwD Candidates: No fee (exempted) All Other Candidates: Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred only), payable online The examination fee paid will be refunded only to candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Examination; refunds will be processed after completion of the Preliminary Examination to the original mode of payment (Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Wallet, etc.). Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions can apply for OPSC Assistant Public Prosecutor Apply Online through the following steps: • Visit the official OPSC website at https://www.opsc.gov.in and carefully go through the detailed Advertisement No. 09 of 2026-27. • Register/log in and fill up the online Proforma Application, ensuring all information entered is accurate before submission. • Upload scanned copies of the required documents/certificates listed under Para-12 of the advertisement, along with a recent passport-size photograph (unsigned and unattested, within six months), full signature, and Left-Hand Thumb Impression (LTI). • Pay the applicable examination fee (Rs. 700/- for candidates other than SC/ST/PwD) through the online payment mode. • Submit the online Registration to receive a unique Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN). • Take a printout of the finally submitted online Registration/Re-registration and Application form, sign the declaration, and retain it along with copies of certificates/documents for submission as and when asked, including at document verification. Applications received through any mode other than the OPSC online portal will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.
Important Instructions
