A total of 158 apprenticeship training seats are available across three types of apprentices - Trade (124), Diploma (18), and Graduate Non-Engineering (16) - distributed category-wise as SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and UR. In addition, 6 seats are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Stage 1 – Merit-Based Shortlisting Detail: Description Selection Basis: Marks obtained in ITI / Diploma / Graduation qualifying examination Local Preference: Preference given to candidates from neighbouring villages within 16 km radius of MAPS Plant Site. If all trades are not filled by local candidates, merit list is extended to other applicants. Tie-Breaking Rule 1: In case of tie in percentage of marks, candidate born earlier (older candidate) will be ranked higher Tie-Breaking Rule 2: In case of tie in Date of Birth also, candidate with higher percentage in Matriculation (10th) will be ranked higher Stage 2 – Document Verification Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. • THIS IS NOT AN EMPLOYMENT IN NPCIL. Engagement as an apprentice shall not create any obligation on NPCIL to offer regular employment, nor any obligation on the apprentice to accept employment under NPCIL after completion of training. • The period of apprenticeship training will be for a maximum of One Year. The contract of apprenticeship terminates on expiry of the training period. • Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 in any organization are strictly NOT eligible to apply. • Preference in selection will be given to candidates from neighbouring villages within 16 km radius of the MAPS plant site in Kalpakkam.
