Age Limit
Candidates should not be more than 32 years of age and not less than 18 years of age, as on 1 January 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes candidates. The upper age limit for PWD candidates is as per Office Memorandum No.PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18.01.2023. Date of birth is accepted only as per a certificate issued by the Municipal Board/Department of Health & Family Welfare/School Certificate/H.S.L.C. Admit Card; no other proof of age is accepted. Application Fee
Category: Fee (per post) General Category: ₹100 ST/SC: ₹50 Fee can be paid through: (a) Debit-cum-ATM Card/Credit Card/Net Banking; (b) UPI; or (c) E-Challan (cash payment) at any branch of the State Bank of India. For cash payment, candidates must select payment across the bank counter, fill in the required details to generate an e-challan, and pay at any SBI branch; the e-challan itself does not need to be submitted separately. An additional amount may apply as the bank's commission.
Selection Process
Selection is made by the Departmental Selection Committee, and candidates must appear for a written examination at their own expense. There is no interview, in line with Office Memorandum No.PER(AR)58/2024/36 dated Shillong, 29 July 2025. Subject: Maximum Marks General English: 50 General Awareness: 50 Total duration is 1 hour (1 hour 30 minutes for PWD candidates). There is negative marking for wrong answers, with details to be specified in the question paper guidelines. Examination centres are Shillong, Tura, Jowai, Nongstoin, and Nongpoh; once a centre is selected it cannot be changed, and if the number of candidates opting for Jowai, Nongstoin, or Nongpoh is inadequate, the Departmental Selection Committee may direct such candidates to the nearest centre instead. If a single candidate qualifies for more than one Grade IV post category, the Departmental Selection Committee will decide which post they are selected for. Reservation of vacancies is as per the Reservation Policy of the Government of Meghalaya.
