Age Limit
The maximum age limit for all 16 posts under this recruitment is 30 years for UR/EWS candidates, as on the cut-off date of 01.09.2026. Age relaxation is available as follows: • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation. • OBC-NCL candidates: 3 years relaxation (subject to a valid non-creamy-layer certificate issued on or after 01.04.2026 and a self-declaration). • PwD candidates: 10 years (General), 15 years (SC/ST), 13 years (OBC-NCL). • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines. • Retrenched ex-contingent workmen of MECL: Up to 20 years. • Internal candidates: Up to 1 year relaxation may be granted with CMD approval; no relaxation applies in qualification or experience criteria for internal candidates. Salary
Selected candidates will be placed in IDA pay scales ranging from Rs. 19,600-47,900 (Grade W-3, Junior Driver) up to Rs. 22,900-55,900 (Grade W-7, Accountant), with most Non-Executive posts falling in Grade W-4 with a pay scale of Rs. 20,200-49,300. Besides Basic Pay, MECL offers IDA, HRA, Perks & Allowances (under a cafeteria approach), PF contribution, Group Performance Related Incentive, Group Medical Insurance Facilities, the MECL-Employee Defined Contributory Superannuation Scheme (NPS), Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Term Insurance, vehicle loan facility, and House Building Advance, as per Company guidelines.

Selection Process
Selection for all posts follows a multi-stage process, with all tests conducted at Nagpur only: • Screening of applications: A Screening Committee segregates applications into "Eligible" and "Not Eligible" based on the information provided in the online application. • Written Test (100% weightage): Conducted at Nagpur by an independent external agency notified as a "Public Examination Authority". Cut-off marks are 50% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS, 45% for SC/ST, and a relaxed standard for PwD candidates as per government guidelines. • Document Verification: Candidates clearing the written test are called for document verification, ordinarily in a ratio of up to 1:7 per vacancy, in order of merit. • Skill Test / Trade Test (qualifying in nature): Conducted by an internal committee, which segregates candidates as "Suitable" or "Not Suitable". This stage does not carry marks toward the final merit list. • Final Merit List: Drawn up based on Written Test marks among candidates found "Suitable" in the Skill/Trade Test, and approved by the concerned Functional Director.
