Eligibility
The educational qualification prescribed for both Assistant Controller and Audit Officer posts is identical: Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com), or an MBA (Finance), or an MBA (Financial Management), or an MBA/M.Com (Financial Analysis), or any other Master's degree with 'Finance' as one of the subjects, notified by the University Grants Commission, from a university established by law in India. Alternatively, candidates who are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, or members/associate members of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, are also eligible. Candidates who have appeared for an examination whose passing would render them educationally qualified, but whose results have not yet been declared, are also eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. However, all candidates declared qualified for the Main Examination must submit proof of passing the requisite examination along with their Main Examination application; failing this, they will not be admitted to the Main Examination. Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
Age Limit
The age limit is fixed as per the Karnataka Gazetted Probationers (Recruitment through Competitive Examinations) Rules, 1997. Category: Minimum Age | Maximum Age (as per Rules, 1997) General Merit: 21 years | 35 years Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 21 years | 38 years SC/ST/Category-1: 21 years | 40 years As per Government Order No. Sikasu-262, Session-2025, dated 29-01-2026, a one-time additional age relaxation of 5 years has been extended to the maximum age limit for recruitment to these posts. With this relaxation, the applicable maximum age limits for this notification are as follows: Category: Minimum Age | Maximum Age (with one-time relaxation) General Merit: 21 years | 40 years Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 21 years | 43 years SC/ST/Category-1: 21 years | 45 years Age is reckoned as on the last date fixed for submission of applications. Additional age relaxation is also available to Ex-servicemen (up to 3 years plus service rendered, subject to a maximum of 10 years), Persons with Disabilities (10 years), and widows (10 years, subject to the prescribed conditions), as specified in the notification.

• Visit the KPSC website, kpsconline.karnataka.gov.in, and click "New Registration" for One Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered. • Complete OTR registration using a valid e-mail ID and mobile number, and secure your login credentials. • Log in to the Applicant Login page using your Enrolment Number, Mobile Number, or e-mail ID with OTP, and complete or update your profile under "Registration of Applicant Details". • Click the "Apply to Post" tab against the relevant notification and select the specific post(s) you wish to apply for. • Fill in all details accurately, including personal details, educational qualification, and category details, and upload your photograph (200 KB, dimensions as specified) and signature (70 KB) in JPEG/JPG format only. • Review all details carefully before final submission - once an application is submitted, no request for correction will be entertained. • Pay the applicable fee online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. • After successful submission and payment, verify that your application shows "Application submitted", "Payment done", and "Application is accepted" against the QR code before considering the process complete.
