Salary
The Assistant Commandant (Engineer) post carries a very attractive pay package under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The basic pay is at Level-10 in the Pay Matrix ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500. In addition to the basic pay, the post carries Dearness Allowance (DA), Special Compensatory Allowance (applicable while posted in specified border areas), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), and Free Medical Facilities for the officer and family. As per the posting location (border/non-border), additional allowances are admissible as per Force rules. On appointment, candidates will have the option to choose either the New Pension Scheme (NPS) introduced by the Government of India with effect from 01.01.2004, or the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) introduced with effect from 01.04.2024, as per their convenience. Candidates who resign before completing a minimum service of 10 years will be required to refund an amount equal to three months' pay and allowances or the cost of training, whichever is higher.
