Age Limit
The upper age limit is 45 (Forty Five) years as on 23 November 2026. Age relaxation follows the State Government rule: Category: Relaxation SC/ST: 05 years EBC / BC: 03 years Female candidates (all categories): 03 years Persons working in a Govt. Institution: As per rule Physically handicapped candidates: As per the rule of Govt. of Bihar The reservation points and the upper age relaxation follow the rules of the Govt. of Bihar. EBC candidates must carry their Caste, Non-Creamy-Layer (NCL) and Domicile Certificates.
Application Fee
Category: Fee (cost of application form) UR/EWS/BC: Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) SC/ST/EBC: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred & fifty only) The fee is non-refundable and is paid by Demand Draft in favour of The Director, IGIMS, Patna. Payment by any other mode (cash, cheque, money order, postal order, pay order, banker's cheque, postal stamps, etc.) will not be accepted, and such applications will be summarily rejected.
How to Apply
• Download the application form (Proforma for the Post of Senior Resident) from the IGIMS website, www.igims.org. • Fill in the form: advertisement number, post and department, name with NMC/State Medical Council registration number, father's name, date of birth with age on the cut-off date, category, addresses, contact number, educational qualifications starting from MBBS, experience after MD/DNB, publications and presentations, employment status, Demand Draft details and the list of enclosures. • Affix a recent photograph and sign the declaration. • Get a Demand Draft for the fee for your category, payable to The Director, IGIMS, Patna. • Bring the form, the Demand Draft, the originals and one set of self-attested copies to the H.O.D. Chamber, PMR Dept, IGIMS, Patna-14 on 23 November 2026, reporting between 09:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Fill in your name, age, gender, caste, address, educational qualification and the other fields correctly. Once the form is submitted, it cannot be changed.
Important Instructions
• Candidates employed in a Government/Semi-Government department or with any other employer must submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of the interview/document verification. Otherwise they will not be considered for the interview. • Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification. • No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview or for joining the post if selected. • The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject or accept any or all applications without giving any reason, and to cancel the advertisement. • Selection by the Selection Committee does not give a right of appointment. The Institute reserves the right of appointment of the candidates recommended by the Selection Committee.
