• A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years as on 01-01-2026. • Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disabilities/Children and Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh, only where a post is reserved for these categories. • Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen of HP for HPAS and HP Police Service posts is as per the Ex-Servicemen (Reservation of Vacancies, Pay Fixation and Regulation of Seniority in the HPAS) Rules, 2020. • Government servants of HP holding substantive/officiating/contractual appointments are eligible up to 45 years for HPAS and other posts (Tehsildar, Block Development Officer, Treasury Officer), 42 years for HP Police Service, and 42 years for District Controller (Class-I Gazetted). Application Fee
A uniform examination fee is charged from all candidates, irrespective of category: Category: Fee All Candidates (Uniform Fee): Rs. 600 • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance. • Payment can be made online via Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or any other prescribed online digital mode. • Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected.
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through a three-stage process: • Preliminary Examination (Screening): Two objective-type papers of 200 marks each - General Studies and Aptitude Test. This is a qualifying/screening stage only; marks are not counted for final merit. • Main Examination: Includes compulsory papers (English, Hindi, Essay, General Studies I, II, III) and two papers of one optional subject. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each of the Hindi and English compulsory papers and 45% in the aggregate (excluding Hindi and English) to qualify. • Personality Test (Interview): Candidates qualifying the Main Examination are called for a Personality Test to assess overall suitability. Final merit is based on marks obtained in the Main Examination (written papers, excluding Hindi and English) and the Personality Test.
