Salary
Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary for the first five years, after which they become eligible for the regular pay scale (as per the 7th Pay Commission) subject to satisfactory service - and subject to the outcome of pending Supreme Court SLP Nos. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012. Selection Process
Selection for both Research Assistant and Statistical Assistant is through a single-stage Computer Based Response Test (CBRT)/OMR-based objective (MCQ) competitive examination, held in one paper divided into Part-A and Part-B. • Part-A (90 marks, 90 questions): Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Constitution of India, Current Affairs & Gujarati-English Comprehension (30) • Part-B (120 marks, 120 questions): Subject-related questions based on educational qualification - Statistics (30), Official Statistics (30), Mathematics (30), Economics (30) • Total: 210 questions, 210 marks, combined duration of 3 hours (180 minutes) • Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer • Minimum qualifying standard: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B, independently, for all categories • Candidates (roughly twice the category-wise vacancies) are called for document verification based on provisional merit • Final selection list is prepared based on marks obtained, subject to category-wise vacancies Part-A questions are in Gujarati and English. In Part-B, the Constitution/Current Affairs and subject-related questions are bilingual; the Gujarati comprehension section is Gujarati-only and the English comprehension section is English-only.
