Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions to apply for the Municipal Accountant post.
Age Limit
As on August 21, 2026, the candidate's age must not be less than 20 years and not more than 35 years. Age relaxation is available as per government rules. Salary
Selected candidates will initially be appointed on a fixed monthly pay for the first five years, and will move to the regular pay scale thereafter, subject to satisfactory service. Particulars: Details Fixed Pay (First 5 Years): Rs. 49,600 per month Regular Pay Scale (After 5 Years, ROP-2016): Rs. 39,900 – 1,26,600 (Level-7) Regular appointment in the pay scale after five years is subject to satisfactory service review and remains subject to the outcome of pending Supreme Court proceedings (SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012), as mentioned in the notification.

Exam Pattern

Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of two stages. • Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective/MCQ): A screening test of 150 marks, conducted in CBRT/OMR mode, to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Marks scored in the Preliminary Examination are not counted towards the final merit list. • Stage 2 – Main Examination (Descriptive): Consists of two papers of 100 marks each. The final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination only. Approximately seven times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination, based on availability. Candidates must appear in both papers of the Main Examination; absence in either paper renders the candidate ineligible for selection.

• Visit the official website ojas.gujarat.gov.in. • Go to "Online Application," click on "Apply," and select GSSSB. • Click on Advertisement No. 450/2026-27, Municipal Accountant, Class-3, and select "Apply." • Read the "More Details" section carefully, then click "Apply Now." • Fill in the Personal Details, followed by Educational Details. • Accept the declaration/assurance and click "Save" to complete the application; an Application Number will be generated. • Upload your photograph (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format, each under 15 KB. • Click "Confirm Application," verify all details carefully, and confirm — no changes are allowed after confirmation. • Download and print the confirmed application for future reference. • Pay the examination fee online before the last date. Candidates must ensure that the photograph used in the application is a recent, passport-size photo with a white background, taken no earlier than one year before the last date of application, and the same photograph copy must be used at every stage of the recruitment process, including the exam attendance sheet and document verification.

Important Instructions
• Only one application should be submitted; if multiple applications are submitted, the last confirmed application with the fee paid will be considered valid, and all others will be rejected. • No changes can be made to the category (caste) or any other application detail once the application is confirmed. Candidates wishing to correct details must submit a fresh application with the correct information and pay the fee again before the last date. • Original certificates must match the details submitted online; any discrepancy found at the time of document verification will lead to rejection of the application at that stage. • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour per paper will be provided to eligible PwD candidates in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations, subject to prior approval from the Board. • The recruitment process is governed by the Gujarat Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2023.
