The 140 ITI Apprentice vacancies are divided across three trades, each with its own category-wise reservation breakdown. The tables below show the exact number of seats reserved for Unreserved (UR), SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates in each trade.
Eligibility
Candidates applying for any of these three trades must meet the same set of eligibility conditions, which are based on ITI qualification and NAPS portal registration rather than a general degree requirement. Selection Process
Selection for ECL ITI Apprentice posts is based on merit in the qualifying ITI examination, followed by document verification and a formal engagement process. Here is the step-by-step procedure as stated in the notification. • A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (ITI). • If two or more applicants secure the same marks, preference is given to the candidate who passed the qualifying examination earlier (by year of passing). • If the year of passing is also the same, date of birth is used as the tie-breaker, with older candidates given seniority. • If the date of birth of two candidates is also the same, the candidate who registered earlier on the NAPS portal is considered senior. Reservation applicable for CPSUs is followed throughout. • Based on merit, candidates will be called for document verification. • After successful document verification, candidates will be given a training engagement letter indicating the place of posting, date of reporting, and the scheduled date for contract creation at HRD, ECL Headquarters. • The candidate must join at the respective place of posting on the date mentioned in the engagement letter. • After joining, a joining letter will be issued to the candidate from their place of posting. • The candidate must then report back to the HRD office with a copy of the joining letter for creation of the contract on the portal, on the date mentioned in the engagement letter. • The place of apprenticeship tr…
How to Apply
Applications for ECL ITI Apprentice posts must be sent only by post - there is no online or email application mode for this notification. Follow these steps to apply correctly. • Fill the application in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) with all necessary details, including NAPS registration number, discipline, date of birth, and bank details as uploaded on the NAPS portal. • Attach all required self-attested documents listed above, along with the filled undertaking (Annexure-III). • Send the complete application by postal service only to: "Office of the General Manager, HRD, Dishergarh, Paschim Bardhhaman, WB, 713333." • Ensure the application reaches the office on or before 31 July 2026. • For queries, candidates can contact Shri P. Important Instructions
Candidates should be aware of these conditions before applying, since they directly affect eligibility, communication, and post-training expectations. • If the application is not submitted in line with the eligibility criteria and terms/conditions, it is liable for rejection. • Candidates are advised to maintain the same registered e-mail ID and mobile number until the completion of apprenticeship training. • The candidature of the applicant is provisional and subject to verification of certificates and testimonials; false or doctored information will lead to cancellation or termination of candidature, even after engagement. • Upon completion of the apprenticeship period, ECL has no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices, nor can an apprentice claim employment on the grounds of completing the apprenticeship. • Employer liability in case of injury to apprentices is limited as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. The employer is not responsible for injury, loss, or accident arising from the apprentice's own negligence, willful disregard of safety instructions, or unauthorized/unsafe operation of machinery. • Management reserves the right to accept, modify, or reject any or all of the conditions, with the approval of the competent authority.
