Age Limit
The age limit will be calculated as of 1 January 2027. Category: Age Limit | Candidate Must Be Born Between UR: 18 to 42 years | 2 January 1985 and 1 January 2009 OBC: 18 to 45 years | 2 January 1982 and 1 January 2009 SC/ST: 18 to 47 years | 2 January 1980 and 1 January 2009 Reserved-category candidates applying against unreserved vacancies will not receive category-based age relaxation.

The exact selection stages depend on the post selected by the candidate. • Single-stage Computer Based Test • Computer Based Aptitude Test, where applicable • Computer Based Typing Skill Test, where applicable • Document verification • Medical examination Post: Additional Selection Test Assistant Loco Pilot: Computer Based Aptitude Test Station Master: Computer Based Aptitude Test Section Controller: Computer Based Aptitude Test Senior Clerk: Computer Based Typing Skill Test Other notified posts: CBT followed by document verification and medical examination, as applicable There will be a negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer in the CBT. Marks may be normalized when the examination is conducted in multiple shifts.
How to Apply
• Visit the East Central Railway official website. • Open the Hajipur Headquarters section. • Select RRC Patna and open the GDCE section. • Click the application link for notification number RRC/ECR/HRD/Rectt/GDCE/2026. • Select the New Registration option. • Enter the 11-digit employee ID and date of birth. • Provide the required personal, service, educational and contact details. • Log in using the registration number and password received through email or SMS. • Upload the required photograph, signature and supporting certificates. • Select eligible posts and enter the post preferences carefully. • Review and submit the online application. • Save the submitted application as a PDF or take a printout for future reference. Only one online application should be submitted. Candidates do not need to send an application printout or copies of certificates to RRC/ECR by post.
