Vacancy Details
The notice has 2 vacancies, both in grade PS1 and both unreserved (UR). Post: Grade | UR Assistant Engineer (Civil): PS1 | 1 Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): PS1 | 1 Total: 2 CSL reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, not to fill the vacancy, or to cancel the recruitment process, as per its requirement. Government of India directives on reservation apply. The posts have not been identified as suitable for PwBDs. The notice gives the reason: the work calls for frequent visits to work sites, shops, docks and ships under construction and repair. It also involves climbing vertical ladders, moving through narrow passages and manholes, and working in confined spaces and at heights.
Age Limit
For both posts, the upper age limit shall not exceed 45 years as on 27 November 2026. This means applicants should be born on or after 28 November 1981. Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is as per Government of India guidelines, up to 50 years. Ex-servicemen must submit their Discharge Certificate/ Book/ Pension Payment Order from the Armed Forces. With the online application, they must also submit an undertaking (as per Annexure–III) that they have not been re-employed in Government after availing the benefits for ex-servicemen. Category: Fee All applicants except SC/ST: ₹ 400/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) SC/ST: Exempted The fee is paid only online (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking etc.) through the online application facility, from 05 November 2026 to 27 November 2026. No other mode of payment is accepted. For applicants who must pay, the application is considered only after the fee is received. Fees are not refunded after submission or withdrawal of an application.
How to Apply
• Read the User Manual and FAQ published at www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page → CKSRU, Kolkata) before you start. • Complete the One-time Registration in the SAP Online portal. You can reach the portal through www.cochinshipyard.in (Career page → CKSRU, Kolkata) from 05 November 2026 to 27 November 2026. • Submit the application against the post. Submit only one application; once submitted, it is final. • Upload certificates in proof of age, educational qualification, experience, caste etc. and a recent passport size colour photograph. Applications without these will be rejected. • Pay the application fee of ₹ 400/- online, unless you are SC/ST. • After you submit, log in to My Applications and check that the status shows "In process". Incomplete, withdrawn and draft-status applications are not considered. • Keep a soft copy or printout of the application with the unique registration number, and quote this number in any correspondence with CSL. Applications sent directly or by any other mode will not be accepted. You do not need to post the printout, certificates or fee (DD/Challan/Cheque) to Cochin Shipyard Ltd/CKSRU. On the last date, no technical support by email or phone may be available after 1600 hrs. Applicants in regular Government service or in Government-owned organisations should apply online directly.
