Age Limit
The upper age limit is 35 years for most Project Associate-I/II and Project Assistant-II posts, and 40 years for Senior-PAT and Project Scientist-II posts. For Young Professional-II, the eligible age range is 21 to 45 years as on 31 March 2026. Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates. Salary
Stipend varies by post and NET/GATE qualification status, as detailed below. HRA is admissible as per sanction in the respective project. Selection Process
Selection is through a walk-in interview. However, if a large number of candidates turn up, a screening test comprising multiple-choice objective questions may be conducted to shortlist candidates for the interview. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee, and a panel of recommended candidates will be formed based on interview performance. This panel will be utilised as and when requirements arise in the relevant field/project. Candidates have the option to interact with the committee in Hindi or English. If a large number of candidates attend, the interview may continue into the next day.

Eligible candidates must attend the walk-in interview in person on the date allotted to their area of interest. • Check the eligibility criteria for the relevant post and area carefully before proceeding. • Download the application form in advance from www.nbri.res.in, or collect it at the venue on the day of the interview. • Reach the venue - K. N. Kaul Block, CSIR-NBRI, Rana Pratap Marg, Lucknow - 226001 - at least one hour before the scheduled time (11:00 AM) on the date applicable to the chosen area. • Carry one latest photograph, original documents, self-attested copies of all certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth proof, and experience certificates. • Note that tentative mark sheets/certificates and "result awaited" documents will not be accepted. • Appear for document verification, followed by a screening test (if applicable) and/or the interview. Only candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and hold the required degree/mark sheet in the prescribed subjects should attend the walk-in interview.
