Vacancy Details
The vacancies are distributed across UR, SC, BC, EBC, and EWS categories with 35% horizontal reservation for women (applicable to Bihar domicile women only) within each category, as per Bihar Government norms. Department: Total Health Department, Bihar, Patna: 10 (UR row) / 01 (reserved row) Note: (i) Divyang (PH) sub-categories: VH – Visual Handicap & Low Vision; HH – Deaf and Hard of Hearing; OH – Locomotor Disability (including healed leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy); MH – Mental Illness, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Autism, multiple disabilities. Eligibility
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (19-06-2026). Qualifications must be from a Government or Government-recognized or UGC/AICTE-recognized university/institute. All stages of selection are provisional and subject to eligibility verification. Educational Qualification Qualification: Details Option 1 – Educational Degree: Bachelor's / Master's / Doctorate Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Fisheries Science, Biotechnology / Food Technology, Food Safety, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Oil Technology, Veterinary Science, from any university established by law in India; OR any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government and notified in the Official Gazette; AND minimum 3 years experience in food analysis. Option 2 – Mandatory Additional Qualification: For appointment as Food Analyst, the candidate must have passed the Food Analyst examination conducted by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi.
Age Limit
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age as on 01-08-2026. Upper age limit varies by category. Age will be calculated as per Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Divyang (PH) candidates are eligible for 10 years of upper age relaxation as per General Administration Department resolution dated 22.01.2021. Regular Bihar Government employees with minimum 3 years of continuous service are eligible for 5 years upper age relaxation. Only one of the applicable relaxations under clauses 2(ii), 2(iii), and 2(iv) will be granted. Syllabus
The Written Examination (CBT) will be based on the graduate-level Food Analyst syllabus prescribed by the appointing department. Questions will be of MCQ type, bilingual (Hindi and English). Selection Process
The selection process for BTSC Food Analyst Recruitment 2026 consists of a Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test) of 100 marks. Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for Document Verification in the ratio specified under the relevant category provisions. The final merit list will be based on written examination marks (with Normalization applied wherever the exam is conducted in multiple sessions). If a candidate is absent in Document Verification, their candidature will not be considered for final selection. The online portal will be active from 20-05-2026 to 19-06-2026. Candidates must upload all required certificates and marksheets in the designated columns during the online application. All certificates must be issued on or before 19-06-2026. Candidates must ensure they satisfy all eligibility criteria before applying. Registered Mobile Number and Email ID must not be changed after submission as all communication will be sent through SMS/Email only.
