- Age limit: Not more than 50 years of age at the time of selection as Programme Co-ordinator. Qualifications and experience, as printed in the notice: • Associate Professor / Senior Assistant Professor in the University or Affiliated College. • Principal of an Affiliated College, of the status of Associate Professor, with NSS background. • Must have been a Programme Officer (NSS) for at least three years. • Must have undergone NSS orientation in a Training and Orientation Centre (TOC) / Training, Orientation & Research Centre (TORC). Language: Knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying out official correspondence and drafting reports. Marks and relaxations: • SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master's level. • Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master's Degree before 19 September 1991 get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks. • Where the grading system is followed, Grade 'B' on the seven-point scale with UGC letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F is regarded as equivalent to 55%. Selection Process
Selection follows the norms of the NSS Manual, and applicants must be prepared to attend an interview at their own cost. Anyone who attempts to canvass or influence their candidature will be disqualified. The notice says transparency procedure will be followed as per Government Letter No.7582/K2/2021-1, dated 09.06.2021.
How to Apply
• Download or photocopy the application form. Self-designed formats will not be entertained. • Fill in the application in all respects, along with the Information Sheet that must accompany each application. • Attach the Demand Draft for the fee. • Enclose copies of the documents listed below, with supporting evidence for all information given in the form. • Prepare eight copies and address them to the Registrar (by designation only), Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 641 046. • Candidates in service must apply through proper channel. If there is a delay, they may send seven advance copies to the Registrar, but their application will be considered only if it is forwarded through proper channel and received in time. Documents and particulars to send: • Proof of age with an attested copy of the first page of the SSLC Book • Qualifications and degrees, with year or years of passing and the University • Other academic distinctions and publications, if any • Present occupation and salary with scale of pay • Languages known, with copies of recent testimonials • Names of two persons to whom a reference can be made
