Salary
Under Government Order No. 109/2024/176/71-1-2024/71-1001/804/2020 dated 18 July 2024, contractual teachers get a fixed pay of ₹2,20,000 per month (Professor), ₹1,60,000 per month (Associate Professor) or ₹1,20,000 per month (Assistant Professor). The college will follow any government orders on pay issued from time to time. Government Letter No. 250/2018/4067/71-1-2017-जी-63/2008, dated 20 September 2018, was issued by Medical Education Section-1, Lucknow. Under this letter, a retired Professor of a government medical education institution who is appointed as Professor on contract will get a fixed pay of ₹2,20,000 per month under the prescribed conditions. Apart from the fixed pay, contractual teachers are not entitled to any other pay, allowances, bonus, pension or service benefits. The official notification sends candidates to its NMC norms for the discipline-specific eligibility of each post. The service conditions are displayed on the Directorate General's website and on the college website.
Important Instructions
• The appointment is on contract (संविदा) for one year. If no regular teacher is available after a year of satisfactory service, the contract may be extended as needed, based on satisfactory service. • A contract ends as soon as regular medical teachers become available. If service is not satisfactory, the contract may also be ended with one month's notice. • Either side may end the contract at any time with one month's notice or one month's contract pay. • Selected teachers must take charge at the medical college within 15 days of signing the agreement. • Contractual teachers are not entitled to regularisation in government service. The agreement must state that the teacher will not claim regularisation or permanency, or any benefit beyond the fixed pay. Other service terms will be as set out in the agreement. • No pension benefits or bonus are paid for the contract period. • Contractual medical teachers will not be transferred. • Private practice is not allowed on OPD days. Teachers who do private practice must state where they practise and must always be available at the medical college for emergency and disaster services. No teacher may compel patients to see them privately. • The number of posts may be reduced or increased, and the notice is valid for 89 days only.
